A photo tour of Habit Labs HQ

About time for a tour of the Habit Labs HQ. It is a work-wonderland, where we all have labcoats (though we generally handle no liquids beyond coffee and tea).

Whiteboards and drawings and tagboards abound. Buster and Amelia draw diagrams on big pads of paper. (Right now we’re working on Bud.ge screens.)

The roof could only be cooler if it were tin. There is plenty of room for the pullup bar. Everyone in the office does pullups every day. Buster can do at least four. Amelia can do two.

We’ve also been digging the huge wall of windows. With the darkness coming, talk of the SunRizr (Scott swears by it, but where is it to be found?) and the Philips Blu GoLite (several PNW natives we know love it) are rumbling around the office.

Jen works at a standing desk and makes her diagrams on whiteboards. (Whiteboarding is ~~possibly~~ her favorite activity.) She and Buster both have *pretty intense* concentration faces.

Buster mostly just looks serious when he’s coding, but this face actually means things are going well. His wife Kellianne calls it his “010110010110010101110011001011000010000 001110011011011110010000001110110011001010111 001001111001001000000111001101100101011100100 110100101101111011101010111001100101110” face. He works every Saturday (to sneak in quiet time for making such faces?).

Amelia generally looks far less serious. She likes wacom tablets and those colored Stabilo point 88 pens (an addiction from living in Germany) and lots of working-on-paper.

Scott wins the office best dressed award by far. Here he’s demoing some designs in illustrator to the rest of us, which is somewhat unfortunate - because of the table, you can’t see his awesome boots. We are all jealous.

Perhaps the next “life at Habit Labs” post will just be all Sartiorialist style photos of Scott’s outfits. Until then, good day!
